Baselayer (underwear)
Layering your clothing is the expert way to control your body temperature and perspiration, and ultimately your comfort on the slopes. We know what you need at Outdoor Life, we ski every year.
We recommend using 'man-made' fabrics to use as baselayer.
The Base Layer moves perspiration away from the skin keeping it dry and warm. The Thermal Layer forms an insulating layer. The movement of moisture away from the body, which starts with the Base Layer, continues through this layer. The Protection Layer combines weather protection, comfort and durability.
Because cotton and similar fabrics will hold onto moisture that you produce, you will feel cold and damp, and will be 'chilled' at times. This will cause other problems such as loss of energy, something you need plenty of.
